Mankind divided download stuck
I pre-downloaded deus ex mankind divided and disconnected my hard connection when the download said 100%. The 100% went away showing simply the game title until I hit play and the dlc started to try to download. I had yet to connect my wifi and and when I did the dlc started downloading. I was in a hurry to play the game so I unlocked the check marks for downloading the DLC and the download froze. I tried clearing my download cash and deleting the local content for the game, restarting steam. The download starts and then stopped after a few seconds. It says it's still running but it's downloading 0bps and using about 15 mbps of disk space. I have limited my intake to 1000 kbps and changed the download region to one closer to me, Edmonton. I'm 3 hours north of Edmonton.

Oh yeah even after deleting local data the download starts at 77%

I was having the same issue, and I fixed it by clearing my download cache in settings. After I did that, the download started back up. Hope this helps!

Just in case you don't know where I'm talking about, you need to click on steam in the top left corner, then go to settings, and from there you click on the downloads section and the option to clear the download cache is at the bottom of there. Good luck!

Same here, nothing that I do seems to fix the issue.

You need to try more regions, possibly. Always try several to many, and try one FAR away from you also and not just alos close. Try several far away from you.

Also, see this support page...

Same issue, will try a few more regions I guess. Not an inspiring launch through steam considering it told me I had pre-loaded the darn thing the day before.

It is a new release or newer release. Stands to reason that thousands if not more are trying to download the data at the same time. Try several regions VERY FAR away from you also.

And maybe that did it... Back to where I started after 5 region tries and restarts and it's moving again.

Understood on the demand. Slow is acceptable. When it looks like it's dead entirely however, I kinda expect a notification stating at least a, "we're aware of the issue, please be patient."

I'm having this issue as well. None of the solutions posted so far have worked for me.

I preloaded my copy. Began update today for full version update. Download crashed at 19 GB (of 22 GB) and reported a disk read/write failure. Checked for errors but none found. Cleared my download cache and reopened Steam. Disk I/O was showing activity but no network activity in Steam when launching the update, although the ETA built up to over 3 hours before the Steam error dialog reported a timeout. Shut down Steam, cleared the download cache, relaunched, redownloaded and now its showing 30 minutes-ish but I'm seeing network and disk activity as normal.

Watch out for those disk read/write false-positives!!!!

If anyone is getting a disk write error specifically, and you have checked the health of your drive using the Steam support page...

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9709-FKCB-4230

And you are SURE there is plenty of free space on the drive and it is not fragmented in the case of an HDD and not an SSD then try this also...

The "tiny, strange file disk write error thread".

I unchecked the DLC by right clicking the game, going to properties and then unchecking all the boxes. This drastically reduces the download required, but I'm still stuck at 19.8/19.9 GB. I have 64 GB of disk space free (and it isn't fragmented).

Be SURE to check ALL pages also linked in blue. They are equally important, especially this one...
