MSI laptop stays orange and won't turn back to blue
The title says everything. Everything was normal, then i left my computer stay in low power mode to download some stuff from the internet for about 2 hours. When i accessed it again, i started a game and played it, which is when the power button turns orange, no biggie there, but it stays orange even after i quited the game. I tried to restart but the led stays orange.

Is this a software or hardware problem? I may have left it on without a fan during the two hours, but the computer's CPU temp was about 80 when i plugged the external fan in.

my laptop is MSI GE60

i found this info by googling:

"Please follow the below shared instructions to identify the point of failure. First we will try to release the residual charge from the system to check if it powers on or not. Here are the steps:

Disconnect any external peripherals (flash drives, printers, external hard drives) from the computer including the power supply.
Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.
Reconnect the power supply. Try to restart the computer and check.

If the issue still persists, try swapping the system power cable with monitor power cable if they are identical, else you may try powering on the system using a good known power supply. It can be an issue with the power socket as well, test it on another working power socket too.

If you are still not able to get the system powered on, then most likely the motherboard has failed, and hardware replacement may be required."

Orange light happened before on my pc. It can mean your pc is either telling you your power is messed up, or your motherboard is about to die and time to change it..

I had the exact same problem on my MSI GP62 Leopard Pro. It possibly means your computer is running on a mode (in Dragon centre) that makes the game perform to standards (reason why blue light turns orange). What I have done was open task manager and end steam's task, that fixed the problem for me. If that hadn't done it, try opening up "device manager" and check which GPU you have enabled. Last time this happened, my GPU was switched (therefore displaying the orange).

Fixed it. I already knew about the steam sometimes firing the vga card for no reason, so it defenitely wasnt steam. The problem was the vga card driver was incorrectly installed (missing something), so i reinstalled and updated the driver. works like a charm now

I kinda dived in this problem abit since then. The power button turns orange when your graphics card is running, otherwise it stays blue. Normally, the computer uses Intel's internal card, then switches over to Nvidia or whatever when you run a game. It staying orange after the game is closed is just the card powering down before switching over. Now that i have changed it so that my computer uses the Nvidia card 24/7, it never turns blue.
