PC IS DYING OR SOMETHIGN?
MY FPS HAS COMPLETELY DROPPED IN GAME I DONT KNOW WHATS HAPPENING PLEASE IDFK I AM SO SCARED!

I recently uninstalled Razer Cortex because I wasn't boosting my games FPS. And after doing that and deleting the files my PC FPS went to ♥♥♥♥...

But how could that be Razer Cortex? My games still ran at a decent FPS without Razer Cortex but now it just ♥♥♥♥ing died on me

EDIT: Everything is back to normal now.
Discussion will still be open due to communications I am having with some people but, I started a new discussion on the Hardware and OS Page.

Thanks for the help from
The Giving One

Simplest solution would probably be to restore your PC to an earlier point where you didn't have the FPS problems. You say you uninstalled Razer, but then you say you deleted the files. Uninstalling should have deleted the files, what exactly did you delete?

A folder was left behind... The first time I uninstalled it I kept that folder but then I deleted it the second time because I am not planning on Reinstalling it. Also, I can't go back to a previous point because with Windows 10 I need to create a backup which I have not done.

Do a clean reinstall of your drivers, making sure they are intended for Windows 10. Make sure your power plan is set to (high) performance.

My Power Plan has a Razer Cortex plan which doesn't make sense considered it is uninstalled. I have changed to Balanced to maybe stabalize things a little better.

That is just the name of the plan. Even if you have uninstalled Cortex, the name will be the same. You should be able to change the name of that Power Plan.

For example, in Windows 7...

Why are you trying to boost your FPS anyway ? Do you meet the specs for the game(s) in question ?

Post your system specs, please, including if the OS is 32 or 64 bit.

I was boosting my FPS because some games we're running a bit slow... But now, it is devastating slow...

AMD Radeon HD 7770
intel core i5-650 3.20ghz
Windows 10 64 Bit
8gb ram

Then the issue was probably already present and is only now getting worse. Fixing it is the right course of action, not bypassing it by trying to boost FPS with software.

Post your antivirus program.

Post the model number and model EXACTLY of that computer. If it is custom built, post the EXACT motherboard including any revision number if that applies.

Why do I have to post my Model Number? How will that help me at all?

I am using Avast, and have been for the past 3 years.

Do you want help or not, please ?

And Avast is on the list...

Make sure you have Steam and all games set as real-time exceptions for Avast.

No results for "AM5811-E1142 drivers"

http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/search?q=AM5811-E1142%20drivers

I am not finding any results for that number on ACER. Are you sure you have the correct number ?

If you are, can you please go to that site and auto-detect the computer or manually search for it there and then link it here for us ?

YOO!!

My game seems fine! I turned and restarted my PC a couple times due to updates and trying to delete Razer Cortex again...

Thanks for the help!

Keep in touch if anything else happens though please.
I really do appreciate you sticking with me and trying to help!

If you don't know, then that surely suggests that you don't have them set as such, and that is maybe a problem here.

I would suggest that you got to the webpage for Avast, as I don't use any programs from that list so I don't know. Add Steam and games to exceptions for real-time scanning, NOT active scanning.

Sometimes, you can add the entire Steam folder, depending on settings for your antivirus program.

EDIT..Verywell, I see that you seem to say it is resolved, although we have not really done anything. I suspect that you still have issues there but are just not seeing it now.

Drivers from the official webpage (ACER) if they exist. Some computers do not have drivers for Windows 10 or other operating systems. You cannot run just any OS on just any computer.

And make those exceptions for Avast for sure. You NEED to do that at a minimum there.
