Cherry MX blue or Cherry MX red keyboard for gaming?

First of all, I am not a competitive gamer, I play CS:GO but not competitive. I am currently typing on a $11 keyboard from microsoft, and i dont suck at it, but its starting to die out so yeah.

Which one is the best for racing games, some shooters (Like Battlefield) and third person shooters?

Red for gaming, Blue for typing.

In the end, it comes down to preference though. Remember, you can always swap out switches if you want too.

I prefer Black as it is quieter.

You can type on any keyboard. It may require a bit of getting used to, but unless you are trying to become a speed typist, it desn't realy matter.

It's subjective. MX Blues are loud and give that tactile bump you can feel, MX Reds are quieter and are a linear switch, no "bump".

I personally like MX Blues. MX Reds are generally the most popular switch though. I mainly game, but also do a lot of typing, so I like having that loud click accompanied by the tactile bump Blues offer.

Edit: As stated above. Generally speaking, Blues are for people who type a lot, and Reds are for gaming. Still, either will work, it comes down to what you prefer. If you are unsure, WASD (i'm sure other do too) have a mini sample board you can buy for cheap that has 1 of each switch installed so you can hear and feel them before buying a board outfitted with said switch.

Just wanted to add, for your first mechanical board, MX Reds are probably the safest bet, most people seem to prefer them.

Once you buy a mechanical keyboard, you never go back... and tend to start a collection... be careful.

It's all preference, honestly.

I find the clicky, tactile feedback of the blue switch to be a little annoying for gaming. Great for typing, though.

I like red switches for gaming. No noise or tactile feedback. Nice and linear.

Do note that most, if not all, sound tests typically have the tester bottoming out the keys. Plastic on plastic will always make a noise.
