Why would you post a potentially harmful link on a forum for other people to click?

Yes, that is a malware link. Why would you post it in public? You should delete it ASAP.

Exactly. No one is going to click and investigate that. Don't click any links. Period.

Yeah, no. That's not how the internet works.

The reality of it? Someone has already clicked the link and is now infected. Because they have terrible internet security practices. Like the OP for actually posting it.

Here is a tip:

http://wheredoesthislinkgo.com/

This site can take those links and tell you exactly where it redirects to. And exactly like you thought, that one goes straight to a google drive link with auto-download enabled.

Be aware that the user who sent you that was quite possibly infected themselves. This used to be a HUGE problem which had a lot of people very angry and upset at Valve for "not doing anything about it". The virus would actually force the infected to send messages just like that to their friends, and because it comes from someone trusted people would click it and become a victim. I used to see several new threads a day about this on the forums, and good friends of mine whom I considered to be very inteligent were sending me the telltale links, indicating they had gotten infected as well. Then Valve added email confirmations and the mobile authenticator and threads about this problem were very quickly replaced by threads complaining about email confirmations and the mobile authenticator. Go figure.

The virus forces the infected chap to pass it on.
Even better: "does this smell like chloroform?"
