"Steam initialization failed"
"You must be running the Steam client to play Deus ex human revolution- directors cut

PLEASE, tell me this isnt Windows ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 10. It did it earlier today, but it fixed itself after a third attempt. Now, it seems like the problem isn't going away, WTF IS IT, WHY, And WHAT do I need to do? Every other game seems to work just fine, the game has always worked perfectly before. I cannot even fathom what COULD be causing the problem, and google gives me nothing useful on the subject. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Simple as it might be, have you restarted your computer? Had it happen a few times in my life of having Steam, always fixed it.

The problem was, restart didn't help, altough... ith hasn't done it again in a while so maybe it was something with the connection.

Was that an upgrade to W10, a clean install of Windows 10, or purchased with W10 preinstalled ?

Is that Windows 10 32 or 64 bit ?

I upgraded to Windows 10 ( from 7, from which there were saves of the game) and 64bit

This thread only has 4 and now this makes 5 posts in it and it was created on August 26th.

This is going to take a long time if we can only communicate this slowly.

You said you upgraded from 7 to 10. That is a bit of a jump in operating systems, so post the model and model number of that computer. If it is custom built, post the exact motherboard and any revision number if that applies.

Also, what Windows 10 do you have ? Is it 32 bit or 64 bit ?

If it has to be 3-4 more days before you can reply, please be complete with your answer and give as much information as you can. Thanks.

Look, it really doesn't matter that much, the problem seemingly fixed itself and everything is working fine so... I mean thanks for the effort but I really don't have the time to go in depth.

Well, no disrespect but you made the thread and we replied to help so up to you. The problem just probably is not showing up right now but still there. Usually, computer issues don't fix themselves. Good luck to you in any case, though.
