Can not see the flag icon of my country: Isle of Man
Hello Valve's development team

It's more than one year I still have an issue with displaying flags of my country - Isle of man. Instead of the flag I just can see the empty white rectangle (picture attached below). I tried to set the United Kindom country in steam settings if my profile, and it's perfectly working. I can see UK flag. My country never became part of the Kingdom of Great Britain or its successor the United Kingdom, retaining its status as an internally self-governing Crown dependency. Thereby, it should have own flag on steam same way as other countries in the world.

Please, add the icon flag for the Isle of Man. We have a population nearly 85000 citizens and among their many steam customers. They are really like steam and don't want to suffer because can't see their country flag.

Here is screenshot of my steam profile with bugged isle of Man flag icon:

Isle of Man flag you can see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isle_of_Man#/media/File:Flag_of_the_Isle_of_Mann.svg

Kind Regards,

Thing is, this might be something outside of what Valve will do.

You've already said that there's several other places online that don't have the option to choose Isle of Man. Such databases are usually imported or bought from others.

Most things on the internet/websites are - from timezone management to address databases.

In which case, I suspect Valve will only get it changed when whoever they buy this stuff from updates it.

I suspect it is because it is part of the UK you get the Union Jack. A bit like most of us in England don't get to choose the St George's cross.

In other words, we have something to cover us.

It's not quite correct. Isle of Man is not part of the UK. It's independent country. It has own currency, own government, own flag, own laws. You can refer to Wikipedia if you want to find out more.

But from the other hand, you are right. The valve does not regulate country flags. It's what third party companies do.

Therefore, there's nothing else to do but just wait till their database will be updated properly and we will get a proper Isle of Man flag.

P.S. The issue with the flag is so absurdly because even Microsoft has proper option to select isle of Man when you installing Windows 10. Although the majority of websites doesn't even has the Isle of Man as a country, the only United Kingdom or Great Britain.

Yes, I know the technicalities. That's not the point. It's what these other parties SEE it as or the global community or whatever sees it as.

For example, Texas is not strictly a state in the same way as other states in the United States, as it has certain reservations to piss off and go it alone. And yet for all intents and purposes it will be treated as such.

The thing is, all that matters is how it's treated for the purposes here.

Was this tech support jared actually projared working a side business? Might explain the delay. Did he send you any questionable photos of himself?

Well, this comment did not age well. LOL.
Bet you feel silly now when it was proven all the ProJared stuff was fake.
Good job.

Also, Texas is a state, and will always be a state. It has no special things that make it different.
It may be our grumpiest State, but still.
Do note I wasn't saying it had special rights, I was just trying to point out that it is slightly different. There's that thing about them choosing to divide themselves in the future if they could. Now, I'm aware there's a hell of a lot of legal issues surrounding that and not practical. I was merely just trying to point out that it ain't as black and white as things seem.

Fair enough. I wasn't actually aware of all the issues regarding Texas.
No problem at all. I admit I don't pretend to even understand it. I was just trying to clutch at some sort of example, and it was the first thing came to mind.
