They have direct access to the databases. Why would they need your password? They can already see EVERYTHING.
No. Scam. Report the account. Give him fake data, if you feel like it. Pretend a typo, give him different fake stuff. Keep going as long as it's fun.
P.S.: Also Valve will never contact you about official stuff through chat. If there's something to be cleared, they'll work through browser overlay or email (and in the latter case adress you with your login name).

Also, calling for abuse of the report system only helps that guy.
If the Valve systems see a massive increase of reports from profiles that never had any contact with that profile, they'll just disregard all reports as fake bot reports.
