Steam games starting in low resolution?
So,
I've searched a good bit and can't seem to find anyone with a similar problem.

Any games I run for the first time boot up in 1920x768 for some unknown reason. Once I set the resolution in game its good, but that first boot-up is super annoying...

Anyone have any idea why this is happening or how to stop it? I think it might be my monitor since it is not a high-end or mainstream brand. Maybe.

My specs:

EVGA X58 SLI mobo
G.Skill 8gb 10660 RAM
EVGA GTX770
Intel i7 920
PNY 128gb ssd
WD Black 1tb hd
monitor is crap- Curtis.... But it is full hd.

Could be that it somehow doesn't recognise the resolutions properly. And that could indeed be bc it's not a common brand.

For me games usually start up at the lowest resolution my TV can handle (damn HDMI with it's fail on low-res, DVI never had that).

With other games, it just takes my desktop's resolution by default.
