This happens because you have a router, and the ports are closed, if you connect your pc directly to your modem you won't need to forward anything :]

don't forget to check if your gmod is set as sv_lan 0
again the IP you put there is the ipv4 address in your ipconfig.
if it still doesn't work could you take a pic of your ipconfig?

i have activated the ports and using software from '' portforward.com '' i have tested if they are open. it tells me they are. also my friends can see my server listed when they look for it but when they connect they get a message '' lan servers are restricted to local clients ''
i have tried the console command '' sv_lan 0 '' and then
'' ip [ and my ip address ]
and even [heartbeat ] but nothing changes
does anyone out there have any ideas please
