How to take a Screen Shot on a Mac (F12 doesn't work)
Anyone know how to take a screen shot on a mac book pro?

You can always change the screenshot button to something else right if the default button don´t work.

Are you pressing F12 or are you raising the volume on your computer? Because what you're supposed to do is press the little fn key next to Delete to use the function keys instead of the special features found on your keyboard like raising volume. This can be configured (reversed) in your system preferences if you so desire.


If you don't press fn, you're not hitting F12- you're hitting volume up.

Shift-Command-3 will save picture of screen as a file to your desktop. Check Apple-System Preferences-Keyboard-Shortcuts-Screen Shots for your choices and if you need to change a shortcut, select it, click the key combination, and then type the new keys (macOS Sierra).

I always use Mac's default screenshot functionality which gives more editing features I think but after updating my macbook to monterey its's not working. I used these guides {LINK REMOVED} and https://youtu.be/sqa-XrTlmHM

It some times work and other times do not. Should I reset me macbook air?
