Steam code from newegg not working (SOLVED)

I got Deus Ex: Mankind Divided when I bought an amd 8350. I got an email for the product key, but when I try to activate it, it doesn't work. There is something about needing to sign in to amd rewards I think, but i'm not sure.

The key doesn't redeem on Steam, you would need to redeem it on AMD's web site.

Found this with some quick Google magic.

You'll get a promo code and a link to AMD's rewards site, where you make an account, fill out some basic info, and get a Steam key to copy and paste into the client.
