Forced login and authenticate *every* time Steam restarts when using VPN.
Like the subject says, every time I start Steam while connected to my VPN, I have to re-enter my password and then the authentication code from my phone.

This is not an ideal user experience.

Well if you had read the SSA, you would know that Valve isn't a fan of you using a VPN. http://store.steampowered.com/subscriber_agreement/

That's a lot of text, so I searched for "VPN" and "virtual"; didn't see anything related.

Why isn't Valve a fan of VPNs? Do they hate privacy?

Relevant text:

You agree that you will not use IP proxying or other methods to disguise the place of your residence, whether to circumvent geographical restrictions on game content, to purchase at pricing not applicable to your geography, or for any other purpose. If you do this, Valve may terminate your access to your Account.

That being said, it sounds like you are either not accepting cookies, or the cookies are being deleted.

No, they don't want you using a vpn to bypass region restrictions.

VPNs aren't explicitly banned. They do however say that using one to bypass the restrictions can result in a locked account.

My main point is they support them or want you using them so if you have conflicts then you're out of luck.

That's too bad. I expect VPNs are going to be extremely common as time goes on.

Ah! I've adjusted my VPN to be in the same country in which I reside which has solved the problem. Thanks!
