Steam support asking for wallet code
So I sent in a support ticket to request a change in mobile number on my account. They first asked for some sort of CD key and now they're asking for a wallet code... Am I supposed to have these? Isn't a wallet code what you enter to redeem something?

Show them proof of purchase.

As the good Muppet said, proof of ownership is what it sounds like they want and that is expected.

I gave you the link above of the proof that they normally accept. Did you not see that or check it against what you have there ?

Sounds to me you don't have proof.

While you still have access to your Steam -account, I'd make some purchase if I were you.

Meaning you don't necessarily need Steam Support for this.

Seems like I need the receipt since I've only purchased steam cards, which I haven't kept. And I'm tight on money at the moment, but it's not very urgent. I would like my current mobile to be linked though lol.

You could lose your account without proof of purchase. Better follow the steps posted by teutep to remove your invalid number.

That method doesn't work for me.. my last purchase was on April 6th of this year.
I still have my e-mail for codes though... still don't understand why the purchase e-mails aren't enough proof though.

Pretty sure that the suggested method requires to make a purchase now, and so April 6th may be too long ago.

Any purchase will do, and it does not have to be a game, for example. You can buy an in-game item also.
