How can I find a Profile ID of someone who has a random profile ID as his customURL?

I normally use http://steamid.io to find profiles of people with customURLs, but some scammers are smart enough to have random Profile IDs as their CustomURLs, thus me not being able to find the scammer's profile ID, so that means they can change their CustomURLs at will without me able to find their profile.

In other words: the site I use will show a profile if you type either a customurl, profileID etc, but if the customurl of the scammer is a random non-existant profile ID, it will interpret the customURL as Profile ID (which, again, does not exist), the only real way to track the person is to block/follow them and keep in touch with their aliases to know who they are. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm not sure what problem you're having. http://steamid.io should be fine. It should be able to easily tell the difference.

From the examples on the lookup page:
a full URL http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197960287930
a full URL with customURL http://steamcommunity.com/id/gabelogannewell

It shouldn't matter if someone replaces theit custom URL with a string of random numbers. The URL is a giveaway. Have you been cropping out most of the URL and only giving the last part? i.e. tthe "76561197960287930" or "gabelogannewell" bit? Try it with the full URL instead.
