A steamflush will reset your steam to original version. This means alot of your current settings will also reset, and you will have to redownload all the updates. Good luck fixing it.
Is there a way to do that outside of steam? I know how to do that inside steam, but this person cannot even load up steam.
Plus the steam flush config also tends to delete the cache's automatically.
1) press command-R (probably ctrl-R in Windows)
2) check for updates -- on a Mac, this is available under "Steam" menu on the OS menu bar
3) be patient (wait)
I haven't tried #2 more than once yet.
Edit: sorry, you posted "never mind" while i was typing :)
