Refund Fall Guys because it's going free
Hi, Fall Guys is going free u know. So I want to request a refund. Mediatonic said "if u don't want the Legacy Pack and want to refund, contact Steam" I can't refund because I played it for 7 hours. What should I do?

Mediatonic said that because they don't care and don't want to deal with you. Steam's refund policy is very simply put. Less than two hours of play in under two weeks. Your profile shows 6.8 hours of play, so unfortunately you're out of luck.

Take it as a lesson learned. Mediatonic is part of Epic now, and that's the reason for the direction it's gone, same with Psyonix and Rocket League. Simply vote with your wallet in the future.

Based on your achievements it would seem you bought the game back in January, which in addition to the play time makes you super ineligible.

Buying a game when it costs money doesn't make you eligible for a refund months or years later when a decision to make it free to play occurs. Sure, I can understand why you might wonder or inquire. But you're basically asking a version of, "I bought a game for 59.99 six months ago, and now the price is $39.99, how do I get my $20 back?" And the answer is you don't, wait for the game's price to drop or go on sale next time.

There's nothing for you to do. Your hopes for a refund were/are extremely longshot.
That's the devs way of saying "thanks for your money we don't care"

Mate you've had it for ages. Poor form looking for a refund now.

Steam and Xbox/MS have far better refund policy compared from Sony and Nintendo (no refund policy).

It does not make any sense Steam refund you for over 7 hour play.

But if you have credit card with low price protection, it may work.

My current credit card does not have the policy, but I had before.

When I purchased 2 4K TVs 2 weeks before Black Day sales week, I could request lower price and got a couple hundred dollar back.

Grow some common sense sounds about right. You don't get to refund games you bought and played six months ago just because they're going free now.

Somebody making something free months after you bought it is not what that protection is designed for.

Steam will not take kindly to somebody telling their bank they've been treated fraudulently. This can, at best, leave them no longer able to use the specific card with Steam, at worst blocked from buying on Steam altogether.

Considering you already own the game for about half a year, a refund is out of the question.

I never understand the logic of people thinking they can get a refund on something that has become free down the line.

This reminds me of when TF2 went free to play. A few folks were mocking everyone who had paid for the game which was now free. One person put it beautifully. They explained that they paid for the right to play the game sooner than those who did not. They had no regrets about it because in the end, they did get value for their money.

This actually made a lot of sense to me. Someone can buy a game when it comes out for $60. Or they can wait a year or two and pick it up on sale for maybe $30. The people who paid the $60 price tag at release didn't waste $30, they paid that extra $30 to be able to play it a year or two before everyone who waited for it to go on sale.

Screw these guys, I don't care they want free to play. I care they moved platforms and I can't play with my friends anymore.
I'm pushing for a refund or joining the inevitable class action against them

Have fun discussing this with Epic's Tencent-funded lawyers.

Yes, you can. Through the Epic Online Services which Fall Guys is using for quite a while now.
And yes, that includes the Steam version.
