i bught lara croft and the temple of osiris on ebay and i am having a hard job negotiating withe seller. he said first that he had sent the code. he had not. then he starts muck
ing me about. i eventually got the code which he says is7Z5OR-P5YVO-TLLHF it does not work. he now says to substitue th letter o for zero. that does not work either. any thoughts anybody

You bought a key off someone and got a fake one. You got scammed most likely, contact eBay.

You probably got scammed and since eBay doesn't allow selling of such codes all they don't bother to reimburse you or such, just punish the seller.

If the code is working in any way, it is not a good idea to post it here. It's more likely, that someone will snatch it away than that you will end up with the correct way to redeem it

This is really something between the seller and you, and in the worst case, ebay itself. Buying games this way is at own risk and not recommended.

Not sure what you paid on eBay, but you can get a new copy from a non-shady authorized reseller for less than 3 bucks right now.

I think you got scammed. Contact eBay, or Paypal if you used them to pay, and get your money back. Stop buying Steam codes off of eBay. Use proper and legit 3rd party key resellers. Use https://isthereanydeal.com/ to shop legit key resellers, only. They've got price comparisons and wishlilst tools to shop for good deals.

Purchasing a game code off Ebay is just asking to be scammed. Game keys are a 1 time use and likely what happened is you purchased something that was already activated.

Contact EBAY and report the seller for fraud. Make sure to use the emails sent to you as evidence as ebay will ask you for copies of it. Also, in the future, never post CD key codes you have on steam. Steam is full of bots and ninja's that auto steal cd keys for games or steam keys.
