TF2 actually do have a reset option in the achievement menu you can do.
Some games have the facility to reset achievements in game, like TF2 mentioned above. But they are rather rare.
Using SAM to reset achievements is NOT recommended for the simple reason it erases your record of unlocking them but often doesn't reset the variables behind them meaning you might not be able to unlock those achievements ever again.
It really is a case by case basis, and it's a mixed bag.
