If game Dev allow family sharing for their game, could family share game to alt account. Otherwise could use some kind of blur effects, or something to block spots with some kind of picture, frame, or something.
Or...
B. Use the name you want but use special characters. People aren't going to go out of their way to search how to produce each of the special characters in your name.
There's no way to fully turn off your Steam display name being shown in Steamworks games, so I'd recommend option A for maximum security if you don't want to be flooded with requests and such (though it's very easy to ignore all requests on Steam)
If that's not something you want to try and manage, you would need to learn how to use different overlay objects on screen to block information that you don't want others to see. Streamers use this technique most often to hide server details or in-game maps to prevent stream sniping, but you could do the same to cover your Steam name/pic.
Doesn't that mean I will have to buy all my games again on the other account?
Now people that does video recording instead of live streaming, it would matter because can change name, picture all you want, play, then change it back, and upload video with no way of being able to figure you out.
So for live streaming, only other possible way, is using some kind of blur, or cover up to hide names and pictures, if don't want to use alt account.
- You can use same email, and phone number for multiple accounts.
- You're not allow to share account's with others that mean leading it to someone, selling, or giving it away.
- Not all games support family sharing. Doesn't hurt to check on it.
