Slow download speed but fast internet

Hi, I did a speed test and I get 45Mbps, but when downloading a game, I only get 3 Mbps... the estimated time for a 42 GB game is 1 day and 10 hours... Is it normal or should I get a better download speed ?

According to downloadtimecalculator.com, I should get around 5.3MB/s in download and it should take around 2 hours 13 minutes to download.... I'm currently downloading at 248KB/s... does anybody know how I could improve this ? I tried to follow a couple of guide, I tried to flush my dns, clear my steam cache, restart my computer and some, but nothing seem to improve it....

I changed my download region to Israel and now I get 5.2MB/s. I had previously tried to change the region to something in the US but the download was the same, apparently not all region are equal...

No, they are not. Or maybe some have issues sometimes, while others don't. And sometimes, it might even be a good idea to try some very, very far away. I have seen that help in these cases also. Thanks for the reply that it seems to have corrected the issue.

That's because Steam is moving files and unpacking updates.

You should also consider that your own pc might be the problem. If you have a hard drive, the download will be significantly slower. If you want fast downloads, maybe consider buying an SSD

As indicated in the thread, the issue was the steam server, I used SSD at the time of the issue (still am)

stop make assumption, could also be ISP and there partners with congested network area many forget them and they could also be part of that region issue.

im not here to defend steam or ISP i just see things diffrently from a network point of view.
and why then you change Steam DL zone then network and path to it change.

see it as flooded river thats jammed if that help you understand it.
