steam game search not working

hello,

i didn't use steam for about 3 days, and when i finally started using steam again, the search just stopped working. if i try to look up a game, i get the same "oops! there was an error" page. yes i have tried using task manager to manually close steam and then opening it again. ive done it about 15 times now. it just doesn't work. please help.
