hide avatars in friend list

Hello

How do I hide avatars in my friend list on the new steam?
Used to be able to do it but now I can't.

In the options I find only 5 options:
- append nickname
- hide offline in custom category
- hide categorized in offline/online section
- ignore "away" when sorting
- sign in when steam starts

Please help
I need to hide avatars, this is list is impossible to read for me. I am a man that like compact lists of data

The chat is at a state where constructive feedback is required and implemented in order for Valve to fix the issues that remain so you could only wait for a while before everything is up to scratch.

So you're saying they removed this feature and I can only hope they add it again one day?

The chat is completely new and fresh. You can't really expect things to be perfect right off a bat. They are still fixing issues that hardly anybody has acknowledged yet so give them time.
