As per above the steamdeck is a linux based system and as such is usually downloading linux native bulids or has packaged the windows files in a way that the emulator understands them. You moving files manually is generally going to mess things up anyway which is why its not recommended to do so
You can set the download to proceed while playing a game in Settings->Download->Allow Downloads during gameplay
None of these are reasons to 'not' buy the steamdeck
just take the sd card out of deck put it in pc copy games to it then put it back in deck
Try to play that gaming laptop holding it while standing up. Good luck finding a control scheme working with that.
This behavior isn't because of the Steam Deck, but rather because of the Steam Client, and Steam itself.
Normally you only notice it with Family Sharing though, but yeah, you are logged in on two locations, the library is accessable from both locations. One location uses the library, the other location then gets locked.
my advise: Post feedback and suggestions in the correct location
leave lappy in backpack while using phone with controller attachment, your lappy and phone will be on "adhoc network" better performance for remote play boom all the benefits no downsides
plus with lappy in backpack with lid closed u save battery power meaning more gaming time
So maybe, just maybe, the Deck is a solution after all. I'm being snarky, of course. It clearly is.
Also Windows games do not run natively on Linux, remember I said Steam OS is linux, now you know, if you want to run Windows games on Steam Deck you have to enable proton on your Steam deck.
If you like I dumb it down for you, install Windows 11 on Steam deck, if you're not willing to learn anything, and don't like linux. Don't be shock if performance is lower, because Windows uses more hardware resource than linux, as well they're still working out all the problems for windows as deck was made in mind using linux.

u can make wireless adhoc network on ur phone and connect ur lappy to it while lappy sits in backpack, now u can stream games from lappy to phone on wireless adhoc network whereever u go no data connection needed
You do you, of course. Enjoy any Frankensteinian solution you can come up with!
