How to argue privately with a mod?

Got banned for "argueing openly with a mod" but how can i privately argue with them? i dont even know who they are. and there is no way to write with someone without adding him to your friendlist.
The rule makes no sense in my eyes that way.
I dont know what mod it is and how to write with them.
They dont even react when you add a response to your community message so thats not working too.
It should be added that mods who warned/banned you should be shown in the community message and there should be a way to privately contact them.

You could try not to argue with a mod at all. If you got banned or warned and think that it was unwarrented, reply politely to the message you have gotten

but they never answer to it. i wanted to make them clear it was no breaking of rules what i did. even when its only a warning i just want them to know that.
since i never got a reply i thought maybe they will answer my post but instead i only got banned. and i still dont know who it was so i could at least try to add them to my friendlist to talk to them.

Warnings are not bans. If you explain what you were doing they may decide that it was incorrect and remove it.
I got one once when I used an Australian Movie name and got a warning that it was disrespectful.
I replied nicely to the warning explaining that it was a movie reference as the OP had asked for the name of this Australian movie.
I sent a link with it and they promptly removed the warning and even sincerely apologized.
Steam is worldwide with different cultures and languages so maybe just explain it.
They are very good.

They aren't required to reply. If they don't respond to your message, then it's safe to assume that they decided not to unban you and don't want to talk to you about it.

To me it looks like you did, flaming/toxic behaviour is a bannable offence.

Arguing with a moderator about that is a nono, use the community message you've got when you recieved the warning/ban.

If you really feel the need to "tell a mod their job" ... you're breaking the rules enough already that it will quickly LEAD to a ban if you keep it up.

When a mod tells you to stop doing something and you keep doing it, you're the problem, not them or the rules.

Stop doing that.

and you see those guys? they are not banned even tho its very toxic what they wrote and i reported them. does that sound fair?
this mod was doing his work wrong. he banned me (which i maybe deserved because i "argued openly with a mod") but not those other toxic guys. does that sound fair?

half of that forum is flaming and toxic behavior but i dont see half of them banned.
you want to count how many times i heard "gidgud" in that thread?
Isnt that toxic behavior too? and are they all banned? probably not. only i am banned for a stupid reason.
they can happily go on with their toxic "gidgud" but i am banned.

mods are no gods that why they have a m in front of they ods instead of a g so they can be biased and act wrongly.

I don't, it's the moderator who decides what and when.

I only got once an answer ever.
It was when i was banned permanently from a forum for asking for cheats for a SINGLEPLAYER game.
took some explaining because at first he didnt want to understand me but at the end i could convince them it was not against the rules.
that was pretty much the only time i ever got a reply from a mod, never happened again and i got some warnings in 10 years on steam because i sometimes get too easely provoked.

So you have a *pattern* of abusing the forum rules.

They do take that into account when ANOTHER report is put on your account. No one cares whether you were "too easily provoked" - you have been told what to avoid, and yet you KEEP doing it.

That's YOUR end of the problem, not theirs.

And that is just one reason why we are not supposed to discuss moderation here, with respect to bans. We don't have the facts of what happened, and cannot see your ban history, if you even have one.

Past bans and warnings may be considered for future bans. And we are only going to get one side of the story in these threads anyway.

Discussing moderation in the forums is forbidden.
