Depending on how the game is set up, it can turn into an unplayable state, for example if the game requires an online connection but the servers are turned off.
Future new game releases will no longer be called FIFA. FIFA couldn't bully EA for more money that why it no longer gonna be called FIFA in new future releases. Games called FIFA already will remain called FIFA, example FIFA 22, and older.
When you buy a game licence here, you get to keep it PERMANENTLY. It's your to do with exactly the same as if you owned a physical disc or cartridge. The only difference is you obviously don't own a physical copy. You still cannot distribute it yourself or sell it.
The licenceing in regards to EA is THEIR licence to use FIFA's name. It has no bearing on your game purchase now.
For example, look at any footie club. Say Leeds United. They had a shirt deal with Asics in the 1990s. I've got a few of their shirts from then. That deal expired years ago, and they've been through more licencing since then.
Do I still own the shirts? Of course I do.
You see?
