Clicking on links in steam/discord does nothing

I've started to notice this yesterday. But whenever I click a link within either the steam or discord clients, nothing happens. Usually having me resort to copy/pasting the link in my default browser, google chrome. I've been trying to figure out how to fix it but so far nothing has worked. Here's what I have tried so far but to no avail
-Resetting the PC
-Changing the default browser (including installing a new browser such as brave)
-Clearing cache of both steam and discord
-Uninstalling a recent windows update
-Running as administrator

That sounds like a security upgrade. I recommend keeping it that way (no joke). xd
but I understand you want it fixed.
It probably has something to do with Chromium (the browser they both use), full screen notification overlays (focus stealing) and some kind of conflict with yet another chromium based application.

Look at what you recently installed.(it could be a windows update), maybe that has something to do with this.

Gotcha, good to know about that. I'll probably heed your advice and keep it that way just to be safe, but I'll look at your advice if this issue still bothers me.
