My account is still considered new?
I just tried to play a game that is still in "Play Test" development, however it said that I was playing on a newly created steam account and ion order to participate, I needed to sign into an older one.

I think my account is around 3 months old now. At what account age is my steam no longer considered new?

I don't see anything relating to account age requirement on steam, maybe they're speaking about your discord account or something else.
I recommend leaving a post on their own forums instead at least, similar to Fake's suggestion.
