Friends dropdown Menu now missing join game option

Since a week ago after Gmod is started the drop down friends menu no longer has the option to join a friends game. It is also colored blue but was green before. My friend and I are both displayed as online and my friend has a game started. I use to have a Join Game option. This just seem to quite working all of a sudden.

There have been changes made recently to the profile privacy system. Changing those around will very likely solve your problem.

Thank you Ms Beak. I reviewed privacy settings but nothing seems to help. I can send friend messages but they still have no join game button and online is still blue (was green before). Any other ideas anyone?

Thank you J4MESOX4D. I changed the first setting to Public and all others to Private - Friends only.
No effect.

I have virus protection back to what I have had for years. Still no change. Opening a ticket to support.

Support will just direct you back to the privacy article. Also ensure that your friends privacy settings are made available to you so you can join their game. If they haven't altered theirs accordingly and have their games privated; you wont be able to join or see that they are even in-game.

i have recently joined steam and i am facing the same issue.. halo master chief collection, were as my other friends who are also new to game dont have such issue.. can u help me out

I have the same issue, I have found however, if I go to my friends actual page (profile) the button to join game will be on the right. Joining through my friends list no longer works for me.

I have this too, and this is the workaround I found to be working. What's puzzling is that when I shift-tab in game, I cannot join with the all-friends menu to the left, but I can with 4 last players menu on the bottom. o_0
