Some games only getting partial audio when played through speakers?
So i've only noticed this with two games currently but it's happening with Tales of Vesperia and Synthetik. In Tales there's no audio from animated cutscenes or the random skits. No voices or music or whatever which wasn't a problem the first 20 hours I put into this game. Everything else has audio. Combat, exploration, in game cutscenes, etc. But only from speakers and i've tried two different computer speakers as well as a bluetooth speaker through a 3.5mm jack. However I hear all of the audio that I couldn't before, through my wireless headset and my regular wired earbuds. I've tried updating drivers, updating windows, verifying files, uninstalling and reinstalling, messing with in game sound settings, one of the speakers is brand new as of today and is still having the issue. i'm sure this has to be something with how the audio is configured at this point but going through the settings I can't figure out how to fix this. Anybody have any ideas?

I've had a few audio issues with Windows 10 so if this is also your OS, this might help.

First off, go to Windows settings and check audio settings. You should find a list of all the audio devices there. There's usually a couple at least (more maybe if you use more than one screen or whatever).

Disable ALL except the one you wish to use.

That tends to fix a lot of audio issues as it forces it to only use that one.

But another thing is more of a long shot and I doubt it applies here as it tends to be with much older games. If thre's an option in those games for audio enhancement (like 3D effects or surround sound or seomthing, try disabling it, or enabling and disabling it again). Again, I doubt this is relevant but I metnion it just in case.

The only other issue I've come across that might be like this is when I use my TV plugged into my laptop. I have it set to JUST use the TV and disable the laptop monitor. It will happily do 1080p, but if I alt TAB of a 1080p image, the sound doesn't return. Or if it boots the game up and it piddles around with the resolution beforehand, it also has no sound.

So if that's the case for you, try dropping down to 720 and trying again. Again, this one might also be a long shot but again worth mentioning.

Tried disabling all devices but the speakers i'm using, but the issue still persists. Cutscenes and skits are still quiet while everything else in the game has sound. It's almost as if certain audio channels aren't making it through for some reason. I tried resetting my sound settings in windows to default as well and the issue is still there...

A long shot but you haven't got any surround sound settings or multi channel sound on your devices anywhere, whether headphones or something?

If so that can cause issues like this.
