Report a translation problem
Go to your steam install folder. Delete everything except steam.exe and your steamapps folder (where your games reside). The run that steam.exe and it will reacquire all the necessary files again.
this didnt work either, i will just have to get in touch with steam support. thanks for your help though dude
this is probably of no use to you but just putting this here in case anyone else has the same issue
Don't forget to mark your post as the answer.
Open steam settings from taskbar --> interface --> untick 1. Enable GPU accelerated rendering in web views and 2. Enable hardware video decoding, if supported --> restart steam --> tick both the boxes again from settings --> restart steam
