If so make sure you go to Windows settings and disabled ALL the sound devices you don't want to use.
I have a laptop that I have setup by my bed, plugged into my TV. If I set the resolution to 1080 on some games, it will bung the audio on the laptop speakers, if I bung it to 720p (which I natively use) it will go to the TV speakers.
Well all I can tell you is it DOES happen and this is a way to fix it.
If you go into windwos settings and disabled everything except the one audio device you want to use, it just forces it to use that.
I don't know why this hjappens but it does,
I don't know what else to offer really outside of of fiddling with the program that you got with your headset mic (or whwtaever additional audio utility you might use).
I know that's along sdhot.
Maybe check that everything wa suninstalled properly. Wouldn't be the first app to uninstall and leave legacy stuff behind.
