Wtf is steamgames.com 4259522985 and should I be worried?
Okay here a quick summary, I purchased two games on 30th December, and they costed me 30.48 (important later). On the 31st December I didn't even touch steam and it took 30.48 from my account under the name steamgames.com 4259522985, from what I read online it's some sort fraud or something, but I just don't understand how that could of happened as I have 2fa on so I would see if someone tried to get into the account and they would need to know my security code. I am just worried if they will take more money from me, so I have removed my credit card off steam. Any bit of advice?

You purchased two games for 30.48 then wonder why you were charged 30.48?

Secondly steamgames.com takes you to the official site and i may be wrong but the number you posted - 4259522985 is maybe charging your wallet with funds or it may be Valve's transaction id for Steam.

The purchase went through on the 30th and then I had another one by steamgames.com 425... it took the same amount out of it twice that's why i am asking about it and what's a valve's transaction?

Valve is the company that owns and runs Steam. If you purchased with a credit card, the first thing you usually see on your account is that the sum is reserved. Once the transaction clears in a day or two, that reserved transaction will turn into an actual transaction and the money is actually deducted from the account.

Okay I don't think you understand, I made a purchase on the 30th costing me 30.48 and I was already charged for that amount on the 30th. Now on the 31st I didn't use steam and I got charged again, the same amount 30.48

Are you 100% sure about that?

Because it really sounds like you made a purchase on the 30th and the money left your account on the 31st?

You are querying the second payment in a way that suggests the first payment didn't go to steamgames.com?

Who did the 'first payment' go to?
Did it actually happen?

The first payment went under the name steam purchase (which now looking at it is weird but on my steam history it does show me having the game on 30th and that is when the money was taken out) for an amount of 30.48 and then a second time on the 31st (which I didn't even use steam that day) under the name steamgames.com 4259... of the same amount 30.48, so I have two charges on my account worth about 60

That first charge (30th) was "reserving" the funds to be sent to Steam from your bank. It is not actually sent to Steam. Secondly your bank released the "reserved" funds on the (31st) to be sent to Steam. And finally it will show two charges until it corrects itself as only one payment of 30.48 is been sent to Steam.

You can contact Support and they will confirm how many actual transactions took place.

This was the answer the OP received from Support on another thread in November.

"Our records indicate that you have been charged only once for this purchase on your Steam account.

Many credit card companies will place a hold on your funds before authorizing a transaction. In some cases this hold will display as a separate transaction; however, we have only submitted one charge for processing."

What about this charging my wallet with funds? Like a wallet top up or like gifting someone that amount?

I stated - "i may be wrong" and it "maybe" charging your wallet with funds not that it was when referring to the number.

DO NOT use this.

Steam cannot be contacted by phone by any customer.

Use support tickets.

Yes absolutely I should have prefaced with this. They do not return calls made to their automated systems.

So why mention it? YOu can't use it for anything.

That number is not for Steam billing. What are you talking about?
