Prepaid visa gift card
I have this visa gift card and I'm trying to get a game that I have been wanting to get but it keeps on declining it and saying,
"Your purchase has not been completed. Your credit card information has been declined by your credit card company.

Note that in some cases, your credit card company may put a 'hold' on funds in your account, but you will not be charged. After correcting any errors in the information displayed below, please try your purchase again."
I tried everything and I even did research why but nothing helps. This has happened before with other people and now its happening to me

"Your credit card information has been declined by your credit card company".

I have no experience with prepaid VISA cards (I don't think they are even available here), but I've seen people here on the forums say that they can login to VISA (or some url found on the card) and fill in their Name, Adress etc.

Try that, and use the same details when trying to buy the game.

Hello two solution that work for me when I use prepaid visa: 1) For online purchase you may have to register the card so it will be linked to an address. When you do make sure you will use the same address on Steam purchase. You should find the website to register on the card itself. When I buy The Perfect Gift Visa prepaid they always have a sticker on it to remind people that online purchase will require registration.
2) Even while registered you may see that error if Steam has trouble confirming the address. The simple solution is to click Purchase a 2nd time after it fail the first time. I don't know why but this solved it for me a couple times.

Good luck.

P.S. Prepaid cards don't work well with purchases over their balance. If you have 20$ left and try to add 25$ on your balance it will not let you select a 2nd paying method for the missing 5$ it will just fail. If you do end up having a hard to spend balance you may have to use it at a retail store and tell the cashier to pay the exact balance you have with prepaid card and then pay the rest another way.

Quite possible.

Typically if you entera detail wrong (and I don't mean credit card number) it might not agree with what you gave when you bought it and it can cause all sorts of issues.

Glad you got it sorted.

Yeah, it's a pain in the arse how that happens. It's one foible of the banking system I guess, as it only does the check at the end.

I had a similar experience when I first got mine from MyPrepaidCenter. It can be super annoying when you're all set to grab a game and then bam, the card won't cooperate! Here’s a trick that worked for me: sometimes these cards need to be registered online with the issuing company like myprepaidcenter visa, before they can be used for online purchases. Did you try that?

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
