% Achievements Earned - Filter is broken
There's no update checks on this filter or something; when a game has a major update or DLC is released, a game will display as 100% on the filter but on the overview as less and incomplete.

Yup, it's been a problem for ages sadly.
I wish they would fix it....

Can't see it happening any time soon as it's been like this for years.
Kinda pathetic, no excuse why other than nobody has actually looked into it.

Seems like it's a seemingly simple fix considering they literally display the correct achievement progress elsewhere, within 1 click even, with no issue whatsoever.

Making a mental note to bump this and any relevant threads because some of us rely on those collections being accurate.

Duly noted. I'll correct myself then.

I'll make a mental note to not explicitly state i'm bumping threads but instead find something meaningful to respond to or contribute on a timely basis. :)
I have an update. :)

When game developers update their game and adds new achievements, if you'd believe it, Steam is not designed to handle this!

The Steamworks Achievement Data seems to accurately reflect these new achievements. However, the % Achievement Completion in the library is a separate entity that requires an update trigger to update. Such as unlocking an achievement.

This is a huge issue. Since it allows for desync to occur if, for whatever reason, that INTERNAL trigger fails to occur. Indeed, this has happened before. Another user experienced an issue where his desync was caused by playing offline and / or uninstalling the game while offline.

This is where we discovered a "trigger" to update this filter. Or a fix if you will, since it'll prompt Steam to fix itself. Quite simply; though rather annoyingly, it's to reinstall the game.

I had a game, Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition.
That had DLC released so went from being 100% completed to 84% but the filter did not update to reflect this. As soon as I initiated reinstalling the game (had to uninstall it first) the filter updated.

Honestly; considering my issue was I hadn't unlocked the new achievements, it's a waste of time to do this. Just play the game and get an achievement and it'll fix itself. However, thought i'd share this fix in case your issue is the former and you've somehow got a game that is 100% complete but the filter says less. This may be one of the only ways you can fix it.

I found another method to force a steam re-check without requiring any uninstall / installing.
So if your achievement progress filter is wrong, try this:

Close Steam. And either purge the whole:
Steam\userdata\YOURSTEAMID\config\librarycache folder
OR just deleting / renaming the achievement_progress.json

Personally - It worked for me by renaming the achievement_progress.json file. Add OLD to the end of the filename, when you relaunch steam it won't find the old file and it'll create a new one. If there's any issues, you also still have the old file.

Now I can rather easily refresh my entire collection. Handy and good to know.
Of course, still no excuse for the bug existing in the first place. Would be nice to see this fixed.

Eventually.
Still broken. Hello from 2023.
