If you can't use it, and you're getting this message about the postal code, either you're making a mistake somewhere, or there's a problem.
All you can do is return it to the place of purchase. If they say it's fine, that doesn't mean anything because if you can't useit, you can't use it. Again, assuming there's no mistake with you entering the card, they are bound to correct the issue wherth it is by issuing refund or replacement.
Alternatively if they cannot (or will not) help, then you can then go to the card manufacturer/provider and ask the same too.
What did either of them say about the postcode error and what did they suggest to fix it?
