Is it possible to link a game I have installed from outside Steam?
I have many GOG games, which are the same I have on Steam. Is there a way to link those versions to Steam?

But not as an external game (which would be just a launcher).

GOG has an option when you install a game, to recognize a folder of an already installed version. Is there something like that here?

What I want is: when i buy a game on Steam, for example, Sacred Gold in a bundle, but I have already a version of that game from GOG, installed and running. Just recognize that folder, instead need to install the same game again. Just to count as a Steam game (which I have already purchased on Steam).

In GOG we have the option to recognize an installed game, if you purchase it on GOG, and it counts as if you were installed the game from GOG.
Sadly, it doesn't exist though. That's the point.

The main issue here is that GOG games don't have DRM, so it's considerably easier for them to look at another sourced set of files and add them. But you can't do that with Steam files, as there's various bits of DRM.

No, Steam isn't a charity, if you wish to use Steam's features you need to purchase the game on Steam.

No you can't link them
But you can add them to library as non-steam games

You mean like the "Add non steam game" option?

Nah, as others have said, all you can do is add as a non-steam game, which gives you the overlay and that's all.

However, if you're looking for keeping your games more "under one roof" you could look up Playnite. It's a really light, easy to read (uncluttered) UI that you can bung Steam, Origin, GOG, Ubisoft and other platforms' games under.

Just wondering if the game from Gog uses a 3rd party tool you should able to log into that connector and create an account then link that to steam via it.
say for example if the game you bought uses Ubisoft connect then yes you could link the game back to steam via ubisoft account.
Or Rockstar.
