So if you're not being able to pay, it's probably a safe bet, but I seriously doubt you'll get much of any announcement about it. Such things tend to be kept a bit secret for security reasons.
Although it might be dependent on the message you're getting.
If you're getting something like the generic "there has been some sort of problem. Trty again later" then it's not likely to be this, and liely to just be congestion or payment failure due to timeout.
So wait a fwe hours and try again.
Otherwise not much else you can do.
Sitting in the same boat as u. Weird thing is, no one is talking about it really. Makes me feel like the only turkish steam user lmfao. But yeah, since the 16th this month they blocked off most payment options for us. I really hope that its resolved soon as i want to grab some games on sale.
Needless to say, i even contacted the steam support about it and they still havent gotten back at me.
It's entirely dependent on your economy.
The sad fact remains they simply cannot afford to allow this while your eceonomy is down the tubes. If they did they would be LOSING money on every sale.
So sadly all you can do is find another method of payment.
Yeah like i said, no one is talking about it. I atleast expected some kind of reaction from the turkish folks but it seems like no one in turkey was buying steam games anyway lmfao
I think i found the problem. It was boa compra for me. When i tried to NOT use boa compra it worked
Commonly when things like this happen you may well find some banks or providers may work and others won't.
So if others can post here saying what worked for them ,that'd help others.
Ding ding ding, Boacompra is the problem. Just tried it with a credit card and it worked. Thanks for the info!
If a payment fails, you will have your money "set aside" in your account. It doesn't actually leave. It just waits to see if the payment corrects.
If it doesn't it must wait there for about 3 working days before it automatically releases for use again.
This happens with ALL payment failures.
Though all those were from users in Latin America, as far as I know. But good to know, this is something we can factor in when another thread pops up from people in Turkey regarding this.
Well that's the bottom line I find. All you can do is wait and see what happens.
If it does go as they say, then all is well. But if it doesn;t, then you know the staf are crap and unreliable. In which case, what I would do is look for another bank.
