I have a question about locked threads
Hi,

Some months ago I made a thread making a question about Steam community market. That thread was answered and my doubts were cleared. Today I've noticed that the thread was closed 3 hours ago. Is this for a particular reason? I mean, there were just a few answers and all of them followed the community guidelines.

Here's the thread:

P.D: Maybe this is just to avoid people comment since the solution was proposed?

Thanks for all!

Edit: I have no messages by the mods answering why.

A Global Moderator has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
It was probably necro'd by something that had to be deleted.

I would have been notified since I'm the OP of the thread, so I don't think so.

Oh! Seems like a mod marked the first answer as the solution. Well, my last question is if locking a thread affects my account in some way.

You’re fine. Locked threads happen all the time for all kinds of reasons.

The thing to remember is that things here work a little different to other places.

In many places the poster gets certain "rights" to how a thread is run. They can always lock it or delet it or something. That's not the case here as the majority of threads are in regard to helping each other.

So if an answer is forthcoming and the thread has served it's purpose, it can get locked. It's not a relfection on YOU. It's just how things work.

Thank you, I thought I made something wrong...

No you will not be notified, moderator delete the post and lock the topic.
Why would you be notified about that? Being OP of the topic does not mean anything other than you started the topic.

They don't need to explaine that to you.

I mean, when you post a message and I'm subscribed to the thread, I got a notification. If someone wrote a message on them, I get the notification (like on this thread). Even if someone delete the message, I should get the notification that someone posted on the thread I made, right?

Yes, usually, unless it gets deleted and you don't log in until some time afterwards.

Or you could have unsubbed from the thread and don't remember.

That's right, but sometimes those notifications do not arrive.
There could be other reasons, all we can do is speculate.

Yes, maybe that's the reason. I didn't sign in since yesterday.

I have noticed that I indeed received amessage notification, but when I clicked the post, the message was not there. So yes, probably was deleted.
