Stardew Valley Not Launching On Laptop

I have successfully played Stardew on my Windows 10 laptop before, but it will not load now. I have tried all the tips and advice, but nothing works. I will click Play, Steam will say it's Running, and then it just stops and nothing happens (the Play button appears again). I've been playing the game just fine on my Windows 7 PC, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

First port of call, check your antivirus suite to see if anything steam or game related is being quarantined and if it is, make exception for it (do the same with firewall if you have one too).

I found this fix in the official Stardew Valley site's forums and it worked for me!

"all you need to do is launch from steam, right click on stardew valley, click on properties, then scroll down to betas, then click the option tab for betas and click the compatibility version."
