My account was hijacked today and the intruders sold all my cs:go skins then bought dota items
Why does steam support not have an option where I can report that my items have been sold?
And the closest thing that indicates my items being traded without my consent tells me the following: too bad shouldn't have traded ur shid away. WTF????

If you have access to the account

Steps to take NOW:
1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

Please review how you are logging into Steam, you somehow gave them your log in information. This could of been due to the computer being compromised and redirecting to a fake login, or you using a 3rd party site to login to steam.

Once you are sure you have regained control, you can start trading again. Please triple check any trades you make to be sure they are going to the correct account.

After you have secured the account, please edit your profile back to normal (if it was altered by the hijacker/scammer)

If you have lost access to the account

Account Recovery
Make sure you are completely logged out of Steam before you start the recovery process

https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithAccountStolen
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2347-qdfn-4366

Here is a guide that another Steam user was kind enough to make. It will help you navigate your way thru the recovery process if you are having any problems.

In addition to the post above, do note when you've secured your account you WILL NOT get your items back. Account security is ALWAYS the users responsibilitiy and I'm afraid how this works is you gave your account details away on a phishing site (usually skin, inventory or gambling site) or downloaded malware.

This is no different to any other service, like bank acounts for instance.
I wasn't active on steam for days and haven't given any info away, I don't use skin gambling sites or anything like that and I used steam mobile 2fa This is the same account that was hijacked

I put everything into my account's security and nothing helped stop this from happening

Just to be clear here. It doesn't work within days.

It's either you got maleware from somewhere or the gambling/selling sites (or also if you've ever clicked on a "vote for my team" message).

the point is you WILL NOT likely remember going to such a site because that's how they want it to work. Most people swwear blind they never visited such sites but almost every time it turns out they did and just didn't remember.

These sites wait weeks much of the time before attacking, so they can make sure you don't suspect them. That's the point.

Anywhere you've gone where you needed to log in through steam - well that was likely the scam site. Because all you did was give them your log in details.

So the best bet is to ASSUME YOU DID go to these sites and secure your account accordingly.

The fact remains though it MUST be from your own negligence as it's NOT a hack. And as such you won't get items back.

Like I had said. I do not visit nor have visited any gambling type sites nor have signed in anywhere shady at all, My skins were sold on the steam marketplace with low price tags mostly to russian users. The only site i've been on was a buying site called Skin Barron where alot of the people in my family and friends who buy skins always buy from there and nobody has been hijacked by there yet. So Its not that I was being dumb and lost my skins to some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gambling site.

This, this right here, is precisely what crunchyfrog was talking about. It doesn't matter how many use the site, or how many youtubers vouch for it, or how long ago it was since you've used it. It is entirely a scheme for scamming and so it will always be, the moment you set foot outside of the Steam marketplace.

Please do all of the steps in reply post #1 if you haven't already.

First of all, I made myself clear That I did not even log into my steam with skin barron, and my family members vouched for it, Not some dumbass youtubers I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ specified this and you can go do all the research you have to to find out that skin barron does not scam people, and skin barron would not be able to log into my steam account in the first place because I have mobile 2fa for steam so stop telling me what i already know with all those steps in post 2 i changed my password and all that jazz my problem is that i have about 26 csgo skins missing and im pissed oh and also i found who the dota items were purchased from i reported them and will be getting steam support to return my items and money from that fool

Why did you change your nick to "accoount hacked" [sic]? And why did you use a lot of other names since then? Didnt it all happened today?

It doesn't matter who "vouches" for them as they are all a risk to your account.

You gave this site access to your account and now you need to remove this access or they will continue to take what they want as simply changing your password may not be enough nor will steam return the items you allowed someone else to transfer out of your account.

If you never associated your Steam account with them then what could you have possibly done on their site in the first place? Window shopping? Are you just keeping an off-shore bank account with them for no reason? They obviously ask you to login with your Steam account to do literally any "business" with them.

2FA also does not make you impervious to attacks like this if you just give it away as you would with the rest of your login credentials.

Did you even read what i said? I specifically said that i found the person responsible for hijacking my account skin barron has nothing to do with this
