CHANGE PASSWORD? TRADE HOLD?
Hi guys , is there any method how can i contact steam through call about this trade hold after change password? This is because i just recently change my password in the middle of trading items to my friend's account and seems like i need to wait for another 5 DAYS to trade? Seriously for 5 fcking days?

That's policy, a trade hold after a password change to ensure security..

But No, you can't contact them via phone.. and even if you could it wouldn't make a difference, it's the system working as intended

These are basic security measures. Steam will not make an exception for you even if you can get a hold of them within 5 days. Patience.

Sadly, the only thing you can do is deal with it. The hold's in place to give you time to recover your account without losing anything in the event a hacker took control of your account and changed your password.

The problem is, i change my password because i can't login through the website , the authenticator code pop up in my mobile , but when i put it , it said incorrect password, but i can login without problem in steam client, relogin few times in the client with no problem at all. Yeah 5 days is too long actually....

You didn't simply change your password. If you change your password, you don't get hit with a trade restriction.


What you did was request a password reset via account recovery. Nothing can bypass this restriction.

trade hold after RESET password ONLY
change password DO NOT trigger trade hold

Just got back from checking because I didn't believe you. Turns out there is very good reason not to believe you because I just successfully changed my password without giving myself a trade cooldown. And then confirmed I'm not on cooldown by sending a trade offer.

It's very easy.

It's such a stupid thing to have, I'm going to contact then and prove that I am the owner of this account so they can lift it

Only a password reset triggers a restriction. Changing it does not.

Support can not lift the restriction.

Important: Steam Support cannot modify trading or Community Market restrictions, regardless of the circumstances under which your account became restricted.

The owner would know the previous password so the owner would change it, not reset.

i recently forgot my password so i reset it and i went to withdraw my items from skinport wouldnt let me how long do i have to wait? to get the items
