DualSense: Do none of its features work over Bluetooth?
I got a DualSense PS5 controller yesterday, and I've gotten it to work in a couple of games wired, but I've been having issues trying to use it wirelessly. If I do connect it via Bluetooth and I have Steam handle PlayStation controllers, it works great as a normal controller, but none of the unique features work, like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Are these things only usable wired on the PC and not via Bluetooth?

Haptic feedback and adaptive triggers only work via USB as far as I know, yes.

I don't know what is available via Steam but looks like adaptive triggers over BT on PC is possible with other software:

I can't say personally as I've never tried it. But I have seen a few of such posts in recent months. SO yeah, over bluetooth it does seem to be less feature complete.

Dang, that's disappointing. Both features feel so cool, it's too bad you have to be tethered to experience them.

has nothing to do with the topic.

It's so weird that it works over usb and not Bluetooth. Makes you wonder whether it is limited in this way on purpose so as not to afford the PC users the same "premium" experience.

Answers my question. I couldn't get the features to work over Bluetooth. Only wired.
LAME!

Again it's not something likely to happen as this is Sony proprietary electronics. Quite likely there's some encrypted or such data in there that won't allow you to use that feature.

I am only guessing mind based off the fact that many have this issue and always have with them.

Don't forget Sony are known to do such things - from MagicGate with their memory cards to DRM on their data streams (audio and video).

Adaptive triggers work over BT - it depends how/what devs use to implement things.

Haptic feedback uses audio data. On PC, audio is transmitted to the controller via USB, via BT is not supported. Looks like it needs wireless audio transmission info to be released or reverse engineered, or a dongle like the DualShock 4 USB Wireless Adapter to be produced for the DualSense. It's a similar case for Xbox controllers and audio on PC: not supported over BT, requires USB or the wireless adapter.

It'd be great if they finally released a USB dongle to allow full Dualsense functionality on PC...

i would guess and only a guess that the Haptic feedback on ps5 controller will only work on Sony 1st party games only and not on any other 3rd party games on PC.And on both ways cable or bluetooth 5.0 above

It works with Metro: Exodus too which is a third party game. Those features only work with a cable and in the case of a Steam Deck, you'll need Windows too.
