Esc key not working

So, the Esc key does not work anymore.
Is there a combination of keys that I can use to replace it?

The escape key on your keyboard in general? Or in a specific game?

If it's on your keyboard, get a new keyboard or clean the one you've got. If it's in a game, post in the game's hub.

My keyboard is not working properly. And I'm on a laptop. This laptop is very old but I still use it occasionally to do stuff and play some older games.

.... then you're kinda boned there.

You might be able to re-bind in-game things, but it's a vital key for an operating system, so... I'd say maybe look up online that model of laptop and see if there's any help from people. Does it have a PAD or are they actual KEYS? That might make or break whether it can be fixed, or if it's completely hosed.

The key is gone. I was asking if there is an alternative way to escape on windows, because I don't want to download an external software to solve the problem.

If you absolutely have to do it without using external software, apparently you can map keys using the registry editor. It's risky however, and you might break your windows if you do it wrong.
