Someone Accidentaly Reported My account.

Hello, someone accidentally reported me. The scammer contacted him and told him to report me buying/selling illegally and I then took everything from him. After that, he contacted me at Discord and told me that he accidentally reported me to illegal buy/sell. He is very sorry about this and should help me. What can we do? I will be happy if you can help because I have a lot of work to do for my account and I do not want to be banned.

You're not getting banned. And in case you are, I'm sure we can straighten that out whenever that happens. (which it most likely won't)

I've seen many people posting about this, but I have seen no people ever posting that they were banned because of those messages alone, which would have been inevitable, if those messages were true. Because then some of those people could have written about it afterwards, and then I would have seen it. And I've never seen something like that, which makes me believe its not true.

He's lying. It's a scam.

This "community helper" is a scammer who will try to trick you into believing he is Steam Support so he can threaten you into handing things over to him.

1. False report or not if you've done nothing then nothing would happen because Valve would investigate and act accordingly.

3. If Valve was going to do something they'd do it. They wouldn't be trying to scare you in a way to avoid it. They'd do it and have to prove something. All done via Steam.
4. He = a no one. Why believe a no one. DO NOT trust strangers.

Steam Support does not have an email for you to send an email to, and they most certainly don't use a gmail domain for this. The only way to contact support is through the ticket system. But as others have shown, there is no need to do anything here. Your account is in no danger. It's an absurd notion to suggest that false reports can get anyone banned for bogus reasons.

To make things clear, it's a scam, that the bottomline, no confusion at all.

Scammer want to scare you, and steal from you, that all the scammer want to do.

What you want to do is report them for scam attempt, visit their Steam profile, and report, then block them. For discord report them as well, and block them as well on discord so they can't message you anymore.

And I suggest checking this out as well to learning more about internet safety. Also FYI Steam support doesn't contact anyone period, nor do they reply outside of Steam ticket which ticket are only made, and found on Steam help section no where else, they don't do emails, phone calls, VOIP, or anything outside of Steam, hope this is clear as crystal, and understand if anyone contact you claiming to be whatever, you know right away it's a scam.

Here. Another dude. This one never got banned. Presumably there are loads of people they try to convince of this. I can give you a lot more examples, if you're not convinced. None of those people ever got banned.

There is no such thing as "accidentally reporting". You have to click three times to get to the report screen then you have to choose a category for your report AND need to enter a report message and after that you need to confirm your wish to report

No you didn't. Steam doesn't have email addresses for you to use; if anything, you sent your mail to a scammer...

You contact Steam support the "Support" function in the client or on the Steam website.

Steam Support do not use gmail. It's a scam and you're falling for it
