Steam Account Inactivity
Hi Everyone,

I am a graduate student that has almost no free time for gaming. My gaming PC just died on me. I do not have the funds to replace the broken parts or my whole computer, and it cannot be fixed.
With my schooling and career path to be licensed in my field, I don't see myself logging into Steam and purchasing any games for 3-4 years. Does Steam delete inactive accounts after several years of inactivity (no new log ins and purchases)? I am concerned, as I have almost 7 years of purchased games on my account that I don't want to lose.

Don't worry. Steam accounts never get terminated for inactivity.

Nope. Get your stuff done. Steam will be waiting for you when you're ready.

Just be sure that your account is not on any large trading or card groups, as those are frequent targets for account hijacking.

Secure your account FIRST if you can.

Nope, do not worry at all.

I created this Steam account around 10 years ago (I think). About 5 years ago I retired and shuttered my business. Sold off everything and as sod's law would have it, my home laptop broke too.

So, because I was moving into doing other things, and only having disability benefits as my income, I left replacing the PC until last February - several years away.

And when I did - logged right in, and carried on where I left off.

So don't worry. They're not EA.

Thank you all for the answers and information. I will be sure to also secure my account first. :)
