Can I buy a game on Steam when I'm traveling another country? (From the Store & prices of my home country)
Hello there,

is it possible to buy games with my European registered Steam account when I'm traveling Asia?

(For the same Store prices as in my EU Home country)

I basically just want to know if I can still buy games with my Steam account (& PayPal) when I'm abroad without getting into trouble. This is not a question about buying games cheaper in a different country. I still want to pay the same prices that I would be offered in my home country in Europe.

Thanks in advance!

yes
you could also buy it for the cheaper price while you're in the cheaper country and it would be fine too

There shouldn't be an issue buying from your usual steam store (with your usual currency) while on vacation.

Steam doesn't allow that trick, anymore. You cant *casually* switch your store's country without backing it up with proof of new address.

The payment methods billing address sets the cost of the country associated with that billing address.

Thanks a lot for clarifying it! Wasn't sure about it because most of the Threads I found about it were a couple years old.

Cheers!

"What if I am traveling and the product I am trying to purchase has a note about region restrictions?"

I’m currently on vacation in Japan, and I went to a nearby 7-Eleven to buy 500 JPY Steam wallet card. I have redeemed the code into my account, which is a Vietnamese account (I live in Vietnam, thus that is my region), and I have bought a cheap game for 98 yen. I’ve left my PC at home in Vietnam, however would I be able to play the game I bought here once I go home? I would like to know, since I plan to buy more if it is possible. Vietnam doesn’t sell any physical Steam Wallet cards, therefore my only option is to buy it whilst I am in Japan. I plan to get GTA 5.

once a game is in your steam account, you can play it anywhere in the world

Will there be a risk of my account being falsely terminated once I return, or will I face no problem?
