Citrix Workspace causing very low FPS
Hi,
About half of my games are running with very low FPS (<5). If I dual install the same game (e.g. from Microsoft Store), the game runs fine so it must be an issue with the Steam Client and not graphics card drivers etc.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Thanks

Can you try disabling the Steam overlay entirely within your client settings? It's a good start
Thanks. Turns out the issue is the latest version of Citrix Workspace. Uninstalling it restored the FPS.
Good to know. Third-party programs again at it.
I reinstalled Citrix workspace and this time made sure to disable App Protection. Both Citrix and steam games working correctly now.
Hi there !

I think I might be facing the same issue here.
I installed the Citrix update yersterday and now all my games run at very low FPS also.

I'd be very interested if someone has a solution to this that does not require disabling App Protection, as it is required by my company policy.

Thanks !
Responding to myself in case anyone need this in the future :

Downgrading citrix from 2109 to 2108 resolved the issue.

If you use a work computer to play Steam on it, don't. It's not made for use of Steam.

If you use your own computer for work related stuff, ask the administration at work for provision of a home office device. Don't let them leech on your hardware.

Its the citrix driver that causes issues. (I never used the program myself, but I read about it before)
citrix, if employed by your employer, can likely be used to track your activities (all of them) while logged in.
There are a number of third party software pieces online that integrate with the system.

Edit: -removed my meaningless opinion about the software-
(and some misunderstanding I seemed to have)

Just be careful, make sure you keep your security up to date and such with such software.
Read about spectre, meltdown (citrix vulnerabilities)
and read also about third party integration software.

Especially when operating through the tunnel, be careful with what you do. Likely your employee can track everything you do from home on their systems.

Not Valve's problem.
I spent a long time debugging and troubleshooting this. My gtx 960 was going to 7fps on all settings with xcom2. I realized gpu usage was only 20%. Citrix workspace installs a directx 11 hook renderer and uninstalling it fixes it, but i needed it for work, so i found setting app protection service to manual and restarting pc works. Once this service has been started, you need to restart the machine again before fps returns.. xcom2 was 7fps now is 230fps on xcom2.
