Remove email from a Steam account I don't own
I keep getting Steam guard emails from a steam account that I believe I've never owned. I don't recognize the username and the attempts are from Vietnam. How can I fix this?

PS: These emails are officials, they are not a scam attempt.

Not much you can do about this except ignore them.

The reason being that someone clearly has an account and has erroneously used YOUR email address as theirs. Unless you have access to their account, you can't do anything about it from the stteam point of view.

:(

thx for the answer
Could attempt to go through account recovery to gain access to the account, and then change the email to some some random gmail account.

Erm, you do know this is NOT the person's account?

Telling them to commit a scam isNOT a smart move at all.
Set up a filter to include the username that isn't yours, send it straight to trash.
If it's not your account, then how did they add the email to it? It does require an authentication code sent to your email address.

A fair point.

Perhaps they were phished sometime ago, briefly?
You know, It's actually funny that someone by accident chose your number to register for steam guard. There is pretty much nothing you can do , I guess. Just ignore them. Or.. you can write to those emails to stop attempts , tell them they did a mistake and it is bothering you :)

You do realise writing to the email is only going to send it to Valve? Or themselves, right?

That's kind of the point.
The main issue is, if Steam's like most sites, OP can't ever bind that email to their own Steam account and that is a total pain. Trust me, from being in the original Gmail beta when all names were available, I have people enter my email on a regular basis; it's surprising how many big sites happily let people use the accounts forever even if they're never verified. Steam at least has measures in place to prevent this.

OP the best you can do is to try and contact support, depending on the site (Netflix and DStv support are fantastic at this. Instagram and Facebook are useless) they'll unlink your email from that account. Some companies will report the account to their fraud department, but it won't affect your email - that's the other person's drama as they provided the fraudulent information.

Nothing really can be done except for blocking or ignoring the email notifications.

Unless you have some type of ownership of the said account, like knowing the password or credentials, there is basically nothing that can be done.

I like that :}

So Guys, I really don't know how that account is linked to my email. I verified all accounts I remember I have which is like 4 or something (1st got hacked in 2010 and others are dota smurfs) and none of them seems to match. The account name is 'jealouse' which is a word I never used for anything.

I tried searching for a steam support ticket creation but I think you are not able to create these anymore? Cause I got redirected to steam forum every time, that's why I created this topic

How could I contact steam support directly?
This has been happening for more than a year (couple of years maybe? I'm really bad with timelines) if I'm not mistaken. Maybe this happened when steam were less secure? I really don't know, I'm not lying :(
Well, apparently that account is mine.

Asking steam to show all steam connect to my current email, I managed to select that one and change the password. It had a comment from one of my smurfs in the profile page so... Problem solved.

I'm sorry you all, thanks for the help
OK, try this: https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithSteamIssue/?issueid=809
The Steam support maze at times is a "get-as-close-to-the-issue-as-you-can" thing. They will read the ticket though.

Contacting them can't hurt - they'll either remove the email address or do nothing. As I said, it's 50/50 whether they unlink it.

Edit: Igone the above - that's even better! Glad you got it solved! :lunar2019piginablanket:
