If you've used more than one network, then it seems fairly clear the commonality is your PC setup.
First thing I have to ask is are you trying with a cabled connection with those networks? Don't use wifi as that can very much lead to problems like this (wifi is dreadful for household RF interference).
If I had to start looking somewhere though, I'd be looking at your firewall and maybe your antivirus. If it's regularly disconnecting at the same intervals roughly in disparate games, then that's my best assumption.
Don't do that. Not necessary in any case.
The original creator of McAfee even tells you how to uninstall it. If any problems happen, it's usually McAfee. Uninstall it, restart your PC and try again.

On serious note :
In the Start menu, select Control Panel.
Click Programs and Features.
Right-click McAfee Security Center and select Uninstall/Change.
Select the checkboxes next to McAfee Security Center and Remove all files for this program.
Click Remove to uninstall the app.
Click Restart now to restart your computer.
Make sure you follow the post the other user stated - that there are often legacy files remaining that still cause issues. McAfee;s creator showed how to get rid of these.
If you want to check and make sure this is indeed the cause there is one other thing you can try to check. Start Steam in safe mode with networking. Granted, as this is Windows bare bones, you might find the games behave a little wonkily, but if you can connect fine, then that proves the issue is software on your PC.
